PM warns of fake Facebook pages
Prime Minister Hun Sen reminded Facebook users on Thursday not to be cheated by fake news spread by anonymous people.
He said they used his name to post false news that misled the public, and that specialists have come up with ways to block such account users.
In a Facebook post, the prime minister said while the government has laid out a strategy to combat the Covid-19 virus, some inconsiderate people had fabricated false news to disrupt society.
He said such inconsiderate people had secretly created false profiles and pages on Facebook under the name of “Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen Prime Minister of the Kingdom” with the intent to post messages and information that misled the public.
“Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen Prime Minister of the Kingdom” has only one formal profile page with a blue check sign that is verified as true from Facebook. Besides that one, all other profiles and pages are fake,” he said.
